By: Roger Javier- Legal Assistant

The UP Office of the Vice President for Legal Affairs (OVPLA) recently hosted a three-day Legal Summit from April 22 to 24, 2024, aimed at addressing pressing issues within all UP Constituent Universities (CUs). Held at UP Cebu and Harolds Evotel, the summit brought together lawyers and staff from each CU to delve into common challenges.

Key topics of discussion included procurement processes, COA audit observations, disallowances, and land matters affecting the various CUs. The event served as a platform for sharing insights and strategies to navigate these complex legal landscapes.

Highlighting the summit was the presence of the honorable Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, a former legal counsel for UP Cebu, who added his valuable perspective to the discussions.

The Legal Summit marked a concerted effort by the OVPLA and CU legal teams to foster collaboration and find solutions to common legal hurdles, ultimately contributing to the betterment of the UP community as a whole.
